The Lagos State Government has announced it will take custody of a five year old girl who was battered and abused by her father.
46 year old Sukurat Idowu, a resident of Ikotun was arrested after he burnt his child’s face and private part with hot iron because she allegedly fell inside a gutter.
Lagos State Police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, who confirm the new development said the state government had already indicated interest to take over the abused child, who is currently receiving treatment at one of the state hospitals.
